I’m running to be the Mayor of Morrisville to:
1. Prevent future tax rate increases
2. Ensure actual representation for people of Morrisville
3. Reduce expenditures
The current Town Council designs and practices expansionary policies leading the Town of Morrisville deeper into debt. As your Mayor, I pledge to keep the town within its means by following better budgeting practices.
The voice of the citizen in government means the world to me. As a citizen of Morrisville for 17 years, I no longer feel connected to the pulse of the Town of Morrisville. The council has become a one-party team sharing a single, narrow vision. As your Mayor, I will restore the citizens’ access to town’s legislative process with the hope of being heard. I value Democracy over Conformity.
1. Daytime patrols of speed limit enforcement over ending nighttime car thefts and break-ins.
2. Funding recreational projects by adding them to bond levies established for more serious expenditures like Firehouses and Sidewalks/Streets. (2021)
3. Funding parks and government by taking advantage of short term raises in Real Estate values, rather than listening to the voice of citizens’ outcry over hiking property taxes. (2024)
4. Leisure time such as parks and government amenities over more practical land usage such as job creating businesses.
5. Growing the city by raising taxes, selling bonds, and expanding debt rather than expanding through population growth and distributing the tax burden over a wider base.
I wish to steer the town in a fiscally responsible direction by focusing on more practical ways to face problems and contain the cost of living. I’ll work hard to off-set the maintenance and construction of our streets by taking of advantage existing funding sources such as Powell Bills (Gas Taxes), STIP (NC State), and Campo (Federal). My goals will hold Morrisville’s expenditures in check while also ensuring effective and efficient town management.
